I don't get people

I really don't understand people sometimes. How can a person be so fake? I mean why tell me one thing and then turn around and do something completely different? How stupid do you think I am? I usually can see through stuff like that, but it bothers me to no end. I mean what is the point? Does the world really have to think you have no problems? Everyone has problems. I have problems, heck even the most famous people have problems. It is just the way of life. No one is perfect so stop trying to come off as that in public. On the other hand, how can one person be so blind? There is stuff right in front of you yet you refuse to see it. Ugh, people just frustrate me! Maybe they see it, but want the sympathy only a lost person gets. It is all about attention. Once the attention is gone, they turn on you. Hmmm, things to ponder I suppose...

I'm Back

Well, I have neglected this blog for a long time now. I guess it is time to get back into the swing of things. Matt left for a year long tour in Korea recently and Allie and I are adjusting to everyday life once again. It is hard to get used to the time difference (14 hours) and not being able to call him whenever I want. Hopefully once he gets settled completely, we will figure things out. Allie is doing well. She is growing more everyday. She sure is one mischevious kid. From painting with her poop (looong story), to filling up the bathtub with clothes and trying to turn on the water to wash them. She certainly keeps me on my toes. I guess she will make the days go by rather quickly with all her little schemes. She babbles on non-stop and is learning new words everyday (even the ones I don't want her to learn). I am constantly amazed at what she picks up on. Everyone really has to watch what they say around her. LOL

Life in general

Well, we have been taking things day by day. Allie is doing really well with the toddler bed. The only problems we have is naptime. Most days she doesn't take one because she would rather play. It is fine by me since I just put her to bed a little earlier. T-ball season has started and Allie and I have been going to our friend's son's games. It is cute to watch the kids running around after the ball. Let me say that T-ball sure has changed since I was a kid. It basically has no structure around here. We played acutal games, but here it is strange. They let all the kids bat and then do not even assign them positions. Every kid is out on the field. They are not really teaching the kids the fundamentals of baseball like I learned in T-ball, but who am I to say anything?
Matt is doing well in school. He came home last weekend for the long weekend and we had a good time. The weather has been pretty icky lately so we did not do too much. One of these days Allie and I will go up to see him. (maybe...LOL) Other than that not too much interesting going on.

Toddlerhood

Well, I had to turn Allie's crib into a toddler bed today. She climbed out of it so many times yesterday. I was worried she would fall and hurt herself. You would think that since she is so short she wouldn't be able to get herself out, but lo and behold she did. As I type this she is supposed to be taking a nap. I am sure you can guesss how that is going. We are going on our second hour of her playing in her room. I guess I can't complain because at least she is not crying. LOL I am really hoping that tonight when it is dark, it will go easier. Wish me luck. I am sure I will find her sleeping on the floor at some point tonight.

Fires

Ugh, what is so exciting about setting fires? Someone set a fire this evening in the woods behind our house. It is a little more than 100 feet away from the back of the neighbors. The firefighters had gotten it out, but it relighted and they are back fighting it again. What is so fun about this? The MP's told us it definitely was a set fire because the initial burn site is a perfect circle. UGH! I can't stand it. Now, I have to worry about whether or not it will start up again overnight.

Trials and Tribulations

Well, the whole potty training thing did not go over so well. Allie did it perfectly for three days straight, then she decided this was no fun and has not been back since. Oh well, I am not too worried about it. She will be ready when she is ready. No pressure on this end. It was cute seeing her get all excited about peeing though. LOL The things us parents think is cute.

Matt left for school last Friday. He will be gone 5.5 months. Hopefully we will get to see him every now and then. He is at the base that is two hours away, but of course with all the training and what not he will be pretty busy. So begins the boredom. LOL I guess I can use this as practice for him going to Korea in November. Of course I am super jealous and decided maybe I should go do some training too. He has a maid that comes and cleans his room, free cable and internet and the chow hall not too far away. Heck, I would take just the maid. LOL Must be nice. Gotta love it. Anywho, nothing else going on in our lives. Just taking it one day at a time. That is all you can expect right?

Who knew?

Allie surprised me yesterday by telling me she needed to go potty. So, we pulled out the potty chair and gave it a go. As soon as she sat down she went pee in the potty. How proud was I? Really proud. She only had one wet diaper yesterday and two today. The rest of the time she is using the potty. I totally did not think she was ready for this, but I sure was wrong. I was going to wait until she turned two, but I guess she is ready. I am a little excited and sad at the same time. Now I really feel like I am losing my baby. WAAAH!

Tired as usual...

I swear with the weather changing I get more and more tired each day. I wish it would make up it's mind if it wants to be Winter, Summer, or Spring. We have gone to the really warm to the really cold all in the last few weeks. GRRR!

Matt has been home on leave this week and I am sooo ready for him to go back to work. Don't get me wrong, I love my husband, but when he is around all the time he starts to get on my nerves. I can't stick to my normal routines because he is in the way. Plus, when he is home my house seems to always look like a tornado has hit it. Like I said, I love the man to death, but I need some space. Maybe I should rent a hotel room for myself for a night? LOL Funny how that is, you say your vows to spend the rest of your life with them but when they are always there I swear you wish they were gone. I don't know how it is going to be when we are older and retired together. I may just have to be one of those little old ladies at Walmart greeting people just to get away. LOL

We made it back alive...

but pretty wet. LOL It was fun down in Orlando for the week. We got rained on the first day we were there and poured on the day we left. It was still fun though. Actually having the rain the last day made it easier to get on all the rides at Magic Kingdom. I guess Matt, Allie and I were the only crazy people out trying to do Disney. LOL It was nice being able to walk right onto all the rides. Allie had fun. She loved meeting some of the characters. I think I must have walked a million miles each day though. Of course pushing Allie in the stroller made it even more tiring. I think we were all asleep by nine every night. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Matt is heading out in a few weeks for school. He will be gone for five months or so. Fortunately he will only be two hours away so hopefully we will be able to see him some of the weekends. It will be weird not having him around again. Still not sure about his orders for Korea and of course if he does go, I still am not sure what I am going to do. Ugh, decisions stink. LOL

I was able to hold a new baby a few days ago. My friend had her daughter on Thursday. I can't remember Allie being that small. It felt so strange to hold a little one again. I must be one of the weird ones though because most women say they get baby fever after holding a newborn, but not me. I will hold them and then give them back when I am done. LOL

It's been awhile...

Things have been moving along these last few weeks. Matt finally got a school date and we have been preparing for that. He is leaving April 24th and will be gone until mid September. Fortunately he will not be too far away so Allie and I may be able to visit. Then we recieved the depressing news that most likely he will get orders for Korea after school. That means he will be gone for a year. Like the deployment wasn't bad enough, now this. BLAH. Oh well, such is the life of an Army wife. Allie and I will get through it just like we have done before. Now comes the hard part. I have to decide what we are going to do while Matt is gone. I hate making big decisions like this. LOL It really stinks is that he is leaving in November which is right before all the holidays. ICK.

We are headed to Disney World and Sea World next week. It should be alot of fun. Allie loved it last year so I am sure she will love it even more this year. Her newest obsession has been watching Lilo and Stitch so maybe we will see them. A week away from everything is just what the doc prescribed. Of course this is all if Matt doesn't get hurt on Saturday when he goes skydiving. He decided he wanted to go for his birthday and so he is going with one of his buddies. I think he is crazy, but oh well, who am I to say anything. I can't decide if I want to go watch or not. It will probably be a last minute decision since I still have to get ready for our vacation.

Baby season...

Things have been moving along as usual. There is a nasty bug going around and I am hoping we don't get it in our house. It is strange how things like that can be passed along so easily.

It sure is baby season around here. You can tell it has been about a year since the first brigade made it back home. The hospital is chock full of little ones being born. I have a friend who has a kid for every deployment her hubby has been on. LOL I know three people that are all due within two months of each other. Actually, I am off to a babyshower today. Man, those things can get expensive once you start getting invited to a bunch of them. I may need to set up a babyshower fund. LOL Poor Allie sees all the bright toys and things coming in and thinks they are for her. Oh well, she will get over it.

I can't believe my little Allie is growing up so fast. She is 19 months today. The time is flying by. I was out shopping for babyshower stuff the other day and was looking at all the newborn clothes and couldn't believe that Allie once fit in all of that. It seemed sooooo tiny. Now, I have a monster that tears up my house in a matter of seconds. Of course I love the little critter and wouldn't trade her in for anything (well almost anything...LOL)

Long weekends

Boy, long weekends never seem quite long enough. LOL It was a bit chilly this weekend but we had fun anyways. A little scary on Sunday with my neighbor's son taking some pills he found, but all is well thankfully.

I have decided Allie is all about pushing buttons lately. That little girl certainly knows how to push mine. I swear she is doing everything in her power to do all the things I tell her not to. She will even look me straight in the face with a huge smile on as I am telling her No and do it anyways. AHHH...I am wondering if the terrible two's are coming early to my house. I am not looking forward to it, even though I do hear the Three's are way worse. I wish these kids would not be so stubborn. Some days, I wish I could just lock her in her room, slip some food under the door and let her out when she is 4. LOL

Nice and sunny

We sure have been blessed the last few days with beautiful weather. We have been in the mid 70's and it is gorgeous out. A bunch of us took the kids to a wildlife center in Savannah on Sunday. It was the perfect day to go because not only was it beautiful out, but it was FREE to get in. LOL Who doesn't love free? The kids had a blast and Allie loved the cows. They kept mooing and Allie would laugh every time. My favorite part was the wolves. They were so beautiful and came right up to us. Well, as close as they could since there was a fence and some space. We had the whole pack in front of us. I think it was because the kids were eating Cool Ranch Doritos. LOL Maybe wolves like them? The armidillos were really cute too. We stopped at Denny's to eat a late lunch and had fun there too. Any of you football fans would be excited to know that when we were eating Shannon Sharpe walked in to pay for food he had eaten earlier. How cool is that? Of course we were all too chicken to go up to him, but it was still cool to see him. Our one friend Branden was so funny about it. We finally convinced him to get up and talk to Mr. Sharpe and he missed him. It was a great day and even though there were four kids 2 and under, we had no major meltdowns or tantrums. I wish every day was like that. LOL

Poor baby

I feel so bad for Allie. She has four teeth coming in all at once. To make it worse two of them are her canines and I hear those hurt alot. My aunt calls them the stomach teeth because all three of her boys would get sick when the canines came in. Poor thing is waking up alot at night because I know they hurt. We are doing teething tablets and those seem to help a bit. I feel so bad because there is nothing I can do for her. For me, the worst part is she always gets a really runny nose when she teethes and sneezing like crazy. I have to follow her around the house with tissues all day. LOL I never knew so much snot could come out of one kid.

How do they know?

Matt and I have a plan for the weekends when it comes to getting up with Allie. We each take a morning and the other gets to sleep in. Well it never fails that when it is my day, Allie is up at her normal time, but when it is Matt's turn she sleeps later. How is that fair? And how the heck does she know? I have even tried putting her back down during the week since I get up with her then, but she still does not sleep late? I don't get it. She will sleep later for Daddy, but not me. I can already tell she has it in for me. LOL

Weekend

We had a great four day weekend. On Saturday we went into Savannah with a bunch of friends. It was a ton of fun. It was colder than heck, but we still had a great time. We went to a bar called Locos for lunch and man that food was yummy. Of course we had to stop at the candy store on River Street and get some fudge. I think I gained five pounds just walking in there and smelling all the candy they were making. LOL

Poor Allie is teething again and it is really taking a toll this time. No one is sleeping in our house for the last two days. Hopefully the two that are coming in will pop through soon enough. Wish us luck because Mommy is exhausted.

Brrrr

Man, it sure is getting cold these days. Even here in the south. It is crazy to think that in two days we will be in the 20's. This is the south darnit...it is not supposed to get this cold. LOL Oh well, I can deal with it. I will just have to add more layers is all. Poor Matt is going to hear me complain since I am not one to deal with cold very well. I feel every icy breeze blow through (sometimes when there is none. LOL). Well, that is my complaining for the day. I really need to work on getting more pictures up. I am just lazy. LOL They are there, just waiting on my camera. They are calling my name, but I just don't hear them.

A good day

I just had the best day with Allison. Matt had to work so it was just the two of us. It was rainy outside so we couldn't go out and play like we normally do. Instead we stayed inside and snuggled up on the couch and watched Disney movies. It was nice to be able to lay with her. Of course she did not make it through the entirety of any of the movies, but it was still fun nonetheless. Her attention span is definetly getting longer. When she was bored with the movies we would go play. She styled my hair with her play brushes and we made snacks together. I know I am home with her everyday, but days like this are the best.

Ramblings

Things are moving fast lately and I really am not ready for it. Matt has less than fifty days in his enlistment. He is scrambling to find a civilian job, but with the economy the way it is I don't see it happening anytime soon. I am such a pessimist, I know. I like to think of myself as a realist. It sounds so much better. I hate the feeling of not knowing what is going to happen. I want things to be secure. Is that so much to ask for? I know things are bound to work out one way or another, I just wish I knew when and how. I guess I just have to think of something else. Easier said than done. I think it is hard because we have made some really good friends here and it is going to suck to have to leave. We have so much fun. It took us awhile to get to know people and now that we have I am don't want to go. Sigh, this is the military after all and if it wasn't us leaving one of them eventually would. BLAH

Matt and I are going to start on a diet and exercise program again this week. I gained 7 pounds since my surgery and since I finally got the okay to exercise this week it is full speed ahead. YAY. I kind of miss jogging and all that fun stuff. I know I won't be saying that in two days when I am sore from head to toe, but heck it will be worth it right? I think we are going to make it a competition to keep us fueled. At least I hope I do because I have a competitive spirit and hope it will come out.

Whining

I hate being sick. It is not fair. Someone somewhere should have made it so that moms don't ever get sick, or at least until the little ones are able to care for themselves. Even sick and feeling like poop, I still do not get to just lay on the couch and moan. WAH. There is laundry to do, a child to take care of, and a husband who seems to forget how to cook. I tried to get the cat to fold the laundry but he just yawned, stretched and then left the room. It really is not fair I tell you.

Odds and Ends

Happy New year...even though it was a while ago. LOL Not much excitement over here. Kid's are breaking into cars again in the neighborhood, but they may have caught two of them this time. I just don't get it, why break into people's cars? They must be really bored or something. Allison is having fun playing with all her Christmas toys. I guess we picked some pretty good ones. Matt keeps going and playing kitchen with her and they have a lot of fun together. I must not be fun because Allison does not like to play kitchen with me, she would rather throw the food at me. LOL Crazy kid. We are on the countdown to Matt getting out and I get more nervous every day. The ecomomy is crap right now as everyone knows and I am still wondering if it is the right time to get out. It stinks being a grownup sometimes. All these hard decisions to make. LOL.

I really need to get on the ball with taking pics of Allison. Matt bought me a new camera for Christmas and I should really use it. LOL Well, I actually have taken alot of pictures, I just need to upload them. Oh well, one of these days.
